Outdoor Decking
Merbau
Merbau decking is by far the most popular hardwood decking around the world. Merbau timber looks great, it is a durable hardwood, easy to maintain and can last anywhere between 15-40 years. Because merbau is hard wood it has high resistance to termites and weathering.
Pine decking
Treated pine decking is a cheaper alternative to merbau or composite decking as it is softwood, however it is an extremely adaptable timber. It can be stained or painted to match any colour scheme and therefore can easily blend into most settings. If maintained correctly it will give you a lifespan ranging anywhere from 15-20 years.
Composite decking
While composite decking often costs more than wood, composite materials offer the promise of greater durability and less maintenance. Wood is still the most common choice for deck material but it doesn't last forever. Something to note about composites can be that while they are more durable, they can lack the natural look and colour you are looking for. A well maintained composite deck should last upwards of 25 years.
